Volunteer returns to Malaysia

In December the Marist Mission in Ranong was very sorry to say farewell to Miss Alice Lee as it was time for her to return to her own country of Malaysia.

Alice has been volunteering with the Marist Mission in Ranong for two years.

During this time she has been most generous in teaching the children of the migrant workers from Burma. She has a special gift with young children. She loves them and they love her.

Alice is a professional English Language teacher. These skills have been especially valuable in Ranong.

Alice has also pioneered our Marist Lay Volunteer programme offering valuable insight and leadership to the programme in its fledgling stages. The programme has developed considerably since she first arrived and always Alice has been guiding and assisting volunteers along the way.

Again and again we have relied on Alice’s skill and determination to manage different situations, especially related to education and to volunteers.

We wish her all the best as she takes up new challenges in Malaysia and beyond.
